Infantry Mission
To fight by fire, manoeuvre and movement, under all weather conditions, on any terrain, to conquer the ground, to destroy or capture the enemy, to drive him from his positions and to ensure the preservation of the occupied ground, repelling the enemy’s attack by fire, fighting from the rear and counterattacks.
Characteristics of the infantry
It is the weapon of the ‘cluster fight’. Its main characteristics are flexibility, cohesion and the ability to fight on all-terrain, for long periods of time, under all weather conditions, day and night.
Its men are tested more than men of other Arms on the battlefield and for this reason they must be trained mentally and physically to such an extent that they can successfully cope with the hardships of war on the one hand and the thrills of battle on the other.
An operation is considered complete only when the infantry occupies the ANSF.
Infantry training is designed to make the infantryman capable of fighting from the front and of coping with the thrills of battle by coming into direct contact with the enemy and exposing his life to immediate danger.
Recent operations around the world (Falkland Islands, Iraq, Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan) have highlighted the role of the infantry in modern operations. It has been shown that, in implementing the decisions of international organizations, bombing has not produced the desired results. It was thus established that it is necessary and imperative to conduct ground operations, in which the infantry has the leading role.
This was confirmed by the statement of the British representative to the NATO Armaments Committee after the operations in the Falkland Islands. “Our main conclusion from these operations is that the infantry remains the principal weapon on the battlefield.”
And it is only natural, for the principle remains unchanged that “The victor will be he who retains what he possesses or what he occupies”.
The Infantryman, in order to be able to carry out his mission, must be well equipped, well trained, in excellent physical condition, physically hardened and mentally armored with the military virtues.
The Pezzo is asked to abandon the trench and charge with his chest uncovered on a battlefield dominated by deadly bullets, shells and minefields, ignoring his neighbour who is wounded, killed or blown to pieces. And yet, the infantryman must have the mental strength to go forward, to take the ANSF and to fulfill his mission.
He is trained for heroic deeds achieved through personal hardship. Only a trained Infantryman can face the special thrills of the battlefield and the dangers of the battlefield with contempt for death. He always seeks “Victory” by fighting heroically and is historically vindicated.

The spirit of the Infantry, as derived from its mission, is the spirit of heroism and sacrifice, which gives it a dominant position among the other weapons. It is no coincidence that the Infantry has been awarded the title of the weapon of blood and sacrifice par excellence.
It is no accident that the Infantry’s dead in the nation’s struggles are many times greater than those of all other Arms and Corps combined. The numbers are an undeniable truth:
THEY DIED IN THE STRUGGLES OF THE NATION
Infantry Officers: 3,521
Infantrymen : 104,047
Total : 107,568
Today the Infantry has become largely mechanised and is trained to fight in the form of regular units along with the Armoured Corps. Thus co-training with the Armoured by the formation of Tactical Infantry – Armoured or Armoured – Infantry Groups is a necessity, since these tactical groups constitute the main ground manoeuvre forces on the modern battlefield. To this end, today’s modern formations (Motorized and Armored Brigades) are composed of a number of motorized and armored units, have common modern firing and training ranges that facilitate co-training in the execution of the common mission.
It should be stressed that the infantry (whether simple or mechanized) plays a leading role today, not only in the modern battlefield but also in the conduct of peace and other missions on a global scale, in the context of the decisions of international organizations and alliances.
The preparation, equipment and training of the infantry today is aimed at developing the ability to deal with national threats, asymmetric threats, participation in peacekeeping missions and other operations at the national and global level, on an equal footing with other armies of allied countries.
It is the duty of all of us:
The continuous upgrading of the training of officers and soldiers in order to enable them to carry out any mission at home or abroad with complete success.
The modernization of weapon systems and the improvement of the logistics provided.
The cultivation of high morale and unit spirit, while maintaining the traditions and ideals of the PZ weapon.
To promote transnational training and cooperation.
Today the Infantry, with the enormous moral strength derived from its historical past and its immeasurable blood supply, is constantly evolving and adapting to new developments in technique and tactics so as to provide all guarantees that it will continue to walk in the future on the path of Honor, Duty, Glory and Sacrifice.
